Diversity in Peer Review

My last two editorials have focused on the peer review process. The theme of Peer Review Week this year was diversity and inclusions, and I reflected on what that means to me and my thoughts on how important it is to consider and implement in the editorial: Diversity: The Art of Reviewing Independently Together. I also wrote in Gender Bias in Publishing: Double-Blind Reviewing as a Solution? how the double blind review system appears to help mitigate gender bias at our journal when comparing submissions to the acceptance rate at eNeuro.

What are your thoughts on diversity in peer review? Do you feel that double-blind review has an effect on mitigating biases? Do you think it matters? How could we improve the peer review system? Please share your thoughts and experiences in the discussion area.
